Black Mold Removal Service – Derry, NH 03038

Written by jsolloway on . Posted in , , .

Derry, New Hampshire (NH) residents are gearing up for the spring season that is right around the corner. Snow shovels and thermal socks will be gratefully packed away, and the kitchen table will become home to renovation magazines and “do-it-yourself” books for the daring and courageous handyman. With the spring season being a great time to finally plant the trees you said you were going to do for the last three years, or tear up the floors in your 1980’s style bathroom, it is also a time when people discover what could be lurking in their home-black mold! Luckily, your friends at Soil-Away are the black mold removal service of choice for Derry residents, and there is no project too big or too small for us!

What is Black Mold?

Black mold, or Stachybotrys chartarum, is a member of the fungi family that thrives in moist, dark locations where it can easily spread to neighboring walls, floorboards and structures that have low nitrogen and high cellulose content (i.e. common building materials such as drywall). While black mold has rendered the myth of being “toxic,” the Center for Disease Control (CDC) explains that the mold itself actually isn’t toxic, but can emit toxins into the air. So, before you go all-out “HGTV” style by smashing your sink and ripping up floor tiles, it is important to know if you have black mold lurking around. If you do find this slippery, greenish-black nuisance plaguing your home, contact the black mold removal service team at Soil-Away, where we will work with your insurance company to ensure a smooth remediation process.
Visit the CDC for more information on black mold.

What Causes Black Mold?

As a part of your home renovation project, you begin ripping-up some floor tiles and you see some water damage and what appears to be black mold on the floorboards. It is later determined that the water damage was caused from a leaking pipe underneath the bathtub, which led to a breeding ground for black mold. However, what other signs do black mold present? Not all black mold is easy to find, and I’m sure you don’t want to wonder around your basement or bathroom looking for black mold spores. A few other signs to look for are:

  • A musty smell, such as dirt or decaying material.
  • Experiencing allergy-like symptoms such as coughing or sneezing.
  • Seeing an area with high humidity may indicate black mold growth.
  • Condensation or water leaks can also lead to black mold growth.

Hiring a Black Mold Removal Service

After getting a mold inspector to assess the situation and it is determined that the black mold should be removed, it is important for consumers to choose a black mold removal service company that performs quality remediation work. The company should be insured and has the proper equipment to remediate the mold. Soil-Away—an IICRC master certified firm for mold removal services that recently celebrated 25-years of service—is a preferred mold remediation service for Derry home and business owners, and proudly services numerous other locations around NH. All I have to say is WOW and FANTASTIC. I just got done building out my new professional office with Soil-Away’s construction division and they went ABOVE and BEYOND. Scott and Mike, the carpenters are skilled artisans. The project got done on time and the project came in on budget! The finished results have been blowing people away. Much better than I could have anticipated. Anyone is welcome to come to our office, Bright Light Chiropractic in Hooksett to check out the fine work they did. Simply can’t sing enough praises for them. Sorry that the picture doesn’t do the job justice. Thank you Jack and your team. -Dr. Jay

Since day one, I’ve known the owner, Jack, to be a hard-working and selfless leader. Through the efforts of him and his team, he was able to restore my flooded restaurant to tip-top shape. I was amazed with Jack’s orderliness throughout the entire process. Jack has proven to me that he is trustworthy, as both a friend and an individual in the work environment.

Highly recommend Soil-Away. A pipe in our upstairs bathroom gave and sent water down through a wall for at least a day before we noticed water dripping through our kitchen ceiling. Our insurance put us in touch with Soil-Away and they were at our house the next morning to assess the damage and dry things out. Joe, Ray and Tom were phenomenal to work with. They explained every part of the process to us and were very professional and friendly. If you have to deal with similar issues call Soil-Away, you won’t regret it.
