Mold Cleanup Company – Windham, NH

Written by jsolloway on . Posted in , , .

When mold makes its way into your home, a mold cleanup company is the perfect solution to resolve this pesky problem. This was the case for a Windham, New Hampshire resident who came home to find that her basement had been infected. She already knew the danger that mold growth could cause on her family so she quickly called her local restoration company to inspect and clean up the mess. The mold cleanup company sprang into action to resolve the situation.

The Mold Removal Process

In the case of the Windham resident, the drywall in the basement had to be completely removed. The team first worked to seal off the area to ensure that the mold spores were contained to one zone. Then, the professional mold cleanup crew carefully removed the drywall and any affected insulation behind the wall. This process is really tricky so the team takes every precaution necessary to keep the area contained at all times to avoid the spreading of mold. To seal the deal, the cleanup crew, dressed in their protective gear, HEPA vacuumed and treated the infrastructure with an anti-microbial solution that kills fungus spores on contact. When the remediation was complete, the basement was fully restored and the customer was left with a smile on her face. She could rest assured knowing that her home and family was safe. She was given tips on how to avoid mold infestation in the future, and she stated that she would remember those tips in the future.

How to Avoid Mold Damage

When a New Hampshire resident has to call a mold cleanup company to resolve their issue, they’re never in a good mood. This is because the customer is dreading the future expenses of remediation and knows that mold growth can cause a negative impact on their health. This isn’t a situation that can be put on hold, and many people find the do-it-yourself route to be pretty alluring during this time. This is highly discouraged because the average person knows little about mold remediation or the necessary safety precautions to use when handling the substance to ensure safety. Many people believe that they can kill mold by using harsh bleaches and scrubbing tools, but more often than not, this method not only masks the issue but spreads the dangerous micro-organisms to other areas.  So here are a few tips that you can use after a flood or major water-loss to avoid mold growth before it becomes a big problem.

  • Say bye-bye to the carpet pad and possibly the carpet too. Carpet pad material is more likely to become a breeding ground for mold after a flood. This is sometimes the case for carpets as well. On occasion, even your best attempt to dry the carpet just isn’t good enough and it needs to be removed.
  • Create negative pressure in the area by blowing air outside. You can do this by positioning a fan towards a window or outside area. (Make sure to open the window as well.)
  • Use dehumidifiers to help keep moisture out of the room and relative humidity down. Mold spores love moisture. Remove this, and you automatically deter micro-organisms from growing.
  • Cutting and removing wet drywall and baseboard trim is part of the process as well. This is especially important if drywall has been wet for several days or the source of water was contaminated (sewage, ground water, etc…).

Much better than I could have anticipated. Anyone is welcome to come to our office, Bright Light Chiropractic in Hooksett to check out the fine work they did. Since day one, I’ve known the owner, Jack, to be a hard-working and selfless leader. Through the efforts of him and his team, he was able to restore my flooded restaurant to tip-top shape. I was amazed with Jack’s orderliness throughout the entire process. Jack has proven to me that he is trustworthy, as both a friend and an individual in the work environment.

Highly recommend Soil-Away. A pipe in our upstairs bathroom gave and sent water down through a wall for at least a day before we noticed water dripping through our kitchen ceiling. Our insurance put us in touch with Soil-Away and they were at our house the next morning to assess the damage and dry things out. Joe, Ray and Tom were phenomenal to work with. They explained every part of the process to us and were very professional and friendly. If you have to deal with similar issues call Soil-Away, you won’t regret it.
