Smoke Damage Restoration Company- Plymouth, NH

Written by jsolloway on . Posted in , , .

Only an experienced smoke damage restoration company would be able to tackle this complex project. That is why the fire damage cleanup team from Soil-Away was called in. A 200 year old barn in Plymouth, New Hampshire (NH) had a fire. The three-story structure had heavy soot and smoke damage throughout. It affected floor boards and the ruff-cut timber that made up its structure. It was a challenging project that would need a specialized approach. The owners requested the best smoke damage restoration company in the area be sent in. In comes Soil-Away.
Days earlier a franchise smoke damage restoration company was kicked off the project for lack of performance. The homeowners were really concerned that no one would be able to save their historic structure. Their insurance adjuster recommended they bring in Soil-Away to scope the project. After meeting with the Soil-Away fire damage project manager for a couple hours, the homeowners felt confident in their ability to help. Crews would arrive the following day to start cleaning and deodorizing the entire structure from the smoke odor.
Cleaning a 200 year old historic barn is not easy. Cleaning and deodorizing a 200 year old historic barn following a fire is even more difficult. This smoke damage restoration company was up to the challenge. Soil-Away crews utilized a multi-tiered process to remove the soot and smoke odor. The entire structure was HEPA vacuumed from top to bottom. This removed the top layers of loose soot from the wood. Next the wood was wiped down by hand removing additional soot. Soil-Away crews then utilized dry-ice blasting in the heavily affected areas to remove the soot from wooden beams and planks. This process had to be performed with precision as to avoid damaging the barn. Overly aggressive dry-ice blasting could leave marks on the aged wood. Smoke damage restoration crews finished the project by HEPA vacuuming the entire barn again picking up any remaining soot residue. The three-week fire damage cleanup project was a success. The once-worried homeowners were thrilled.
The typical smoke damage restoration company is used to cleaning up the average modern home following a fire. Ceilings, walls and floors are cleaned. Contents and clothing are washed. Furniture and appliances are wiped down. This soot and smoke damage cleanup process is labor intensive, but fairly straight-forward. Once the property is cleaned and fully deodorized the property is turned back over to the homeowners. This happens every day like clockwork in the fire damage restoration industry. Occasionally there will be specialized cases were a smoke damage restoration company will be confronted with a unique scenario. Your average property damage restoration firm will not be able to handle it. This was the case with the barn fire in Plymouth. This was why Soil-Away was brought in to complete the job.

All I have to say is WOW and FANTASTIC. I just got done building out my new professional office with Soil-Away’s construction division and they went ABOVE and BEYOND. Scott and Mike, the carpenters are skilled artisans. The project got done on time and the project came in on budget! The finished results have been blowing people away. Much better than I could have anticipated. Anyone is welcome to come to our office, Bright Light Chiropractic in Hooksett to check out the fine work they did. Simply can’t sing enough praises for them. Sorry that the picture doesn’t do the job justice. Thank you Jack and your team. -Dr. Jay

Since day one, I’ve known the owner, Jack, to be a hard-working and selfless leader. Through the efforts of him and his team, he was able to restore my flooded restaurant to tip-top shape. I was amazed with Jack’s orderliness throughout the entire process. Jack has proven to me that he is trustworthy, as both a friend and an individual in the work environment.

Highly recommend Soil-Away. A pipe in our upstairs bathroom gave and sent water down through a wall for at least a day before we noticed water dripping through our kitchen ceiling. Our insurance put us in touch with Soil-Away and they were at our house the next morning to assess the damage and dry things out. Joe, Ray and Tom were phenomenal to work with. They explained every part of the process to us and were very professional and friendly. If you have to deal with similar issues call Soil-Away, you won’t regret it.
